March for Tshegofatso Pule ahead of trial
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Tshegofatso Pule Foundation is hoping to draw attention to the trial against alleged mastermind Ntuthuko Shoba on Monday.
Shoba, who is accused of hiring convicted Muzikayise Malepane to murder Pule to conceal her pregnancy from his wife, is back in court this week.
His trial was postponed last week ago after the state said it needed to do re-imaging of cell phone records that were submitted by Shoba's defence.
Pule's body was found hanging on a tree in Roodepoort.
She was 6 months pregnant at the time.
Her family and friends say they are tired of the trial being postponed.
"Today is an awareness walk and we decided on it when we got back from court, we were not happy given the fact that we have been going through this for almost two years now,” says said Bothlale Modisane, spokesperson for the Tshegofatso Pule Foundation.
“The court is supposed to proceed and there are a lot of senseless postponements - it's like there is no care in the world for us the victim's family."
Modisane says they feel justice is being delayed.
There have been several postponements in the matter as Shoba's bids to get bail failed.
The trial is expected to resume on Monday.
