Mashaba lawyers to study Lily Mine rescue documents
The leader of People's Dialogue Herman Mashaba said his legal team is studying document received from the Department of Mineral Resources into the Lily Mine tragedy.
Last month, Mashaba took the department to court to force it to release documents around its decision not to retrieve the bodies of three Lily miners.
Its has been four years since Pretty Nkambule, Yvonne Mnisi and Solomon Nyirenda lost their lives after being trapped underground.
Mashaba said it is unfortunate that lawyers had to force the government to hand over the documents.
"We only got the documents on Thursday, piles and piles of documents that they going to use to peruse to see if these documents are genuine or not.”
Mashaba added his legal team would also work with forensic investigators to determine the authenticity of the documents.
