Mass funeral for ten Limpopo crash victims
A joint funeral service will be held this Saturday at Makwetle Secondary School for the ten victims who died in a crash on the D4370 road between Phokwane and Mathukuthela villages last weekend.
The collision, involving two cars, claimed nine lives at the scene, while a tenth victim later died in hospital, increasing fatalities to 10.
Two survivors remain hospitalised.
On Wednesday, officials from the Sekhukhune District Municipality, Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, and the Departments of Health and Transport visited the affected families.
Municipal spokesperson Lemson Moropjane said the government has committed to providing full support, including psychosocial services.
He said all the victims are from Ward 16, covering Mathukuthela, Disenyane and Phokwane villages.
A mass memorial service will take place on Thursday, followed by the funeral on Saturday, both at Makwetle Secondary School.
