Mbete to reveal secret ballot decision tomorrow
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete, will reveal her decision on whether the no confidence vote will be cast in secret or not tomorrow.
The Democratic Alliance's federal executive chairperson, James Selfe, says the speaker missed yesterday's initial deadline that was set to make the decision.
"We have been informed that the speaker will be giving her decision tomorrow," says Selfe.
"In these circumstances we do not believe there to be any point to institute any legal action against her," Selfe adds.
The Constitutional Court earlier this month ruled in favour of the United Democratic Movement, stating the decision on whether a no confidence ballot can be cast in secret or not lies with the Speaker of the National Assembly.
The no confidence vote in President Jacob Zuma is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 August.
