MEC demands ‘urgent’ investigation into KZN crash that claimed 11 lives

The KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Community Safety department will launch an urgent investigation into a crash that claimed the lives of 11 people.
The horrific accident occurred on the R612 between Highflats and iXopo on Thursday morning.
Seven women and four men lost their lives when a taxi collided with an oncoming tipper truck.

MEC Peggy Nkonyeni has ordered an urgent investigation into the cause of the crash.
“We are calling on road users to take responsibility and adhere to the traffic laws. We wish to express our deepest condolences to all the affected families,” said Nkonyeni.
