The mercury rises in the north, while another cold front is heading to the south
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says another cold front is approaching the western part of the country and is expected to bring some showers and rain.
SAWS forecaster, Lulama Pheme, says the front will be accompanied by strong wind gusts over the western and southern interior.
However, in other parts of the country the mercury is rising.
“We are expecting some isolated showers and rain over the Free State and it is expected to affect Gauteng in the evening of Thursday,” says Pheme.
Summer thunderstorms could also make its first appearance by the end of August.
“We are going to get stronger thunderstorms during the week becoming stronger on the 30 and 31 for the north-eastern parts of the country,” says Pheme.
