ANCYL NATIONAL CONGRESS - Despite this morning's logistical problems, the ANC Youth League's 25th National Congress is in full swing with delegates singing and dancing as they prepare to elect new leaders. 


An intense weekend lies ahead with all eyes on who will be the league's next president. The fight for the position is expected to go down to the wire when delegates attending cast their votes. 


The race, which used to be between four men, has now been narrowed to two following the withdrawal of Ronald Lamola and Kenny Morolong. Karabo Ngoepe reports...



TAXI BOSS KILLED - Gauteng Police have confirmed that a taxi chairperson was shot and killed in Tembisa on the East Rand this morning. 


According to police spokesperson LtCol Katlego Mogale they can't at this stage say if the incident has ties with taxi violence...



SWAZILAND ACCIDENT - The Swaziland Solidarity Network says it is still battling to get information of last weekend's tragic truck crash that they say claimed the lives of at least 65 girls, as well as reports of a second accident that apparently involved 50 people. 


The Network's Lucky Lukhele says government is making it difficult for the media to reach even the families... 

UK VOWS TO AID MIGRANT CRISIS - UK Prime Minister David Cameron has told reporters in Portugal that Britain will take in 'thousands more Syrian refugees'.

Cameron has faced mounting pressure to accept a greater share of Syrian refugees, especially after the Images of drowned Syrian boy shocks worldpublication of images of a three-year-old Syrian toddler who was found dead on a Turkish beach.
