Midday Edition: Damning evidence against Krejcir

RADOVAN KREJCIR - Damning new evidence has come to light in the bail application of Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir, his accountant Mike Grigorov and three others. 


The State revealed Krejcir has two Seychelles passports bearing his photo, but with different names and surnames. 


On one passport he is Krejcir and on the other Egbert Jules Savy. 


The five are appearing in the Germiston Magistrate's Court for the murder of Lebanese national Sam Issa.

TELKOM RETRENCHMENTS - The Labour Court in Johannesburg has ruled that Telkom's restructuring and retrenchment process be stopped. 


Judge David Gush further ordered Telkom to retract its restructuring and retrenchment notice, which would have seen 4400 employees lose their jobs. 


A cost order was also granted in favour of Solidarity. 


The union's Marius Croucamp says the court order signals a clear message against unfair restructuring processes...

 

 


JUDICIARY MEETING - Amid the ongoing debate around government's ignoring of a court order to detain Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir, the Judiciary is meeting in Kempton Park today for high--level talks. 


Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng will lead the meeting, which is expected to focus on its relationship with the other two branches of government.

BOKS VS WORLD XV - Jean de Villiers will make an inspirational come-back to top-level rugby off the bench when the Springboks face the World XV at Newlands on Saturday.


De Villiers has been out of action for almost eight months after suffering a horrific knee injury in November last year.
