More than 2000 Gauteng pupils opt for homeschooling - Lesufi

Gauteng Education MEC Panyanza Lesufi says the province registered an average of 90% attendance since the reopening of schools on Monday.
Schools around the country reopened on Monday following a Covid-enforced break in August.
Lesufi says more than 2000 pupils opted for homeschooling.
"In terms of Ekurhuleni, it’s 351 applications that we have received, in terms of Tswane 789 applications that we have received, in terms of Sedibeng and combined with West Rand is 211, in term Johannesburg it is 1201 of applications we have received. In total 2252 of 2.3 million learners have made an application to study from home.”
Lesufi was reponding to questions in the Gauteng legislature on Tuesday.
