Most areas have been switched back on in Pretoria East following an explosion on an underground cable in Disselboom street last week.
The City of Tshwane confirmed on Saturday morning that power was restored in the early hours of the morning.
“Following a rather long testing period, power was restored in phases to all of the secondary substations and suburbs from 02:30 to about 04:30 this morning,” says acting chief of staff for the city, Jordan Griffiths.
Some areas were still without power, but the city has requested that residents report the matter to the municipality and ward councilor.
