Mpumalanga man in court after skeleton of missing girl found

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for murder after the human remains beleived to be that of a teenage girl were found in a shallow grave in White River.
The gruesome discovery was made in a bush in Nkanini Trust by a group of children from an initiation school who were looking for wood on Sunday.
The 15-year-old girl who went missing last December was identified by her family when a dress that she was the last wearing was also found near the scene.
Police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala says they received a tip-off from a community member about the whereabouts of the suspect.
"It is further believed that the suspect could have been trying to flee from the authorities when he was cornered, the male suspect has since been charged for murder as well as defeating the ends of justice. Police cannot rule out the possibility of adding more charges against the suspect as the investigation proceeds."
