Mpumalanga police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a woman was found at the scene of a car crash in Standerton on Tuesday.
It is understood an argument by a couple at a house party led to the boyfriend stabbing the 33-year-old woman to death.
Another couple assisted in loading the victim into a car to dispose of the body.
But while driving on the R23 they collided with a truck, killing the girlfriend from the second couple and leaving her boyfriend critically injured.
The victim’s 31-year-old boyfriend was killed in the crash.
“We initially believed that it was just an ordinary accident however upon intensive investigation by a team of detectives, the evidence proved otherwise. We are investigating cases of murder and culpable homicide,” says police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala.
