The Mpumalanga High Court sitting in Breyten on Monday sentenced 48-year-old Kaido Bhekikhaya Kunene to life behind bars for the murder of his domestic worker.

Kunene, who pleaded guilty to murder, accused Mbali Mdluli of stealing R 27 000 and an illegal firearm in April last year.
Provincial NPA spokesperson Monica Nyuswa says the accused followed Mdluli when she went to fetch water from a nearby borehole.
He then attacked her with a bush knife, wounding her on the head, neck and arms.
"The deceased suffered multiple injuries, and she later succumbed to them in hospital. The murder was witnessed by a twelve-year-old boy, who reported the incident to his parents, and the accused was subsequently arrested," says Nyuswa.
