Murder probe underway after death of Soshanguve siblings
The Gauteng Education Department has expressed shock and sadness following the death a Grade two pupil from Lesedi Primary School in Soshanguve.
The 7-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister were shot and killed inside their family home on Sunday.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is unclear.
Department spokesperson, Steve Mabona said the motive behind is unknown at this stage.
“Subsequently, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident “ he said.
“In response, the Gauteng Department of Education has taken swift measures to support those affected. District and Childline social workers have been dispatched to Lesedi Primary School and the bereaved family to provide necessary counselling and trauma support”.
The victims will be laid to rest on Friday.
