NCT Woodchip Mill in Richards Bay ‘not emitting toxic fumes’
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Richards Bay's NCT Woodchip Mill said the rumours that the fire that's been burning at its plant was emitting toxic fumes were false.

It's moved to assure residents the chips at the factory were just small pieces of raw wood.
Two of their stockpiles caught alight on Saturday.
On Monday, planes started water bombing the flames as reinforcements were brought in.
Meanwhile, chemical company Foskor said their facility was safe from the blaze.
It's the closest business to the fire.
Foskor said it remains on alert and has emergency measures in place.
uMhlathuze Local Municipality spokesperson Bongani Gina believed that they were winning the battle against the fire.
He said the aerial operations were continuing while the firefighting teams worked hard to ensure it doesn't spread.
"We are afraid that once it gets to the next door, that company is less than 500 meters away from Foskor, a company which carries lots of chemicals in it, including sulphur and other chemicals. So we're doing our best to try and prevent the fire from spreading out and try our best to contain it."
