New Covid-19 cases exceed 13 000 for second day

The number of new Covid-19 cases has exceeded 13 000 for the second day in a row.
Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) on Friday show that the country reported 13 652 new cases in just one day.
The Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal both make up 50% of the new cases.
The two provinces are closely followed by Gauteng, the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, Limpopo and the Northern Cape.

This brings the total number of new Covid-19 cases in the country to 2 511 178.
A further 479 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded, increasing the country's total fatalities to 74 352.
