Ngubane denies receiving Eskom emails from Gupta associate

Former Eskom board chairman Ben Ngubane has denied knowingly receiving emails from Gupta associate Salim Essa.
Ngubane returned to the commission of inquiry into state capture on Friday.
Evidence leader Advocate Pule Seleka produced a series of emails from a private email address called 'Businessman' which has been linked to Essa.
The emails were sent to some of the power utility's former executives, including Ngubane, and contained detailed discussions on the affairs of Eskom.

One email referred to an Eskom bank guarantee of R1.68 billion to Gupta-owned Tegeta Exploration and Resources.
Ngubane told the commission he was under the impression that the email address belonged to former Public Enterprises director-general Richard Seleke.
However, Seleka indicated that Ngubane got an email from the same address, with attached documents, before he was appointed as DG.
Ngubane eventually conceded that the email address could have belonged to someone else, but could not confirm if that person was Essa.
