Mkhwebane briefed media at her offices in Pretoria on Thursday afternoon, where she released the final quarterly report for 2019.

She said the investigation into the central bank is in relation to the conduct of “actors within the actors within various municipalities which deposited municipal funds in the mutual funds”.

“We have not received any cooperation but the investigation is ongoing. We will give the Reserve Bank an opportunity to give us their response,” said Mkhwebane.

The Public Protector has also withheld releasing reports into Kusile and Medupi power stations, the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and the Giyani Water Project.

She says all those investigations will be released as soon as they are completed.
