No load shedding scheduled for Monday morning

Eskom said there were no planned power cuts on Monday morning, as the electricity system was stable.
“The power system is currently stable, enabling Eskom to perform maintenance without load shedding,” the power utility said.
However, Eskom said because of increased electricity demand in the evening and power stations’ units being on maintenance, the system was expected to be constrained during the evening peak period (5pm – 9pm).
The utility urged electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm, as the country was experiencing cold weather conditions.
“In winter the electricity demand peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity is used during these times. We appeal to all our customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 06:00 to 10:00 and 17:00 to 21:00.”
