NSFAS workers nabbed for diverting funds to personal accounts
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Three employees from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) have been arrested on charges of fraud.

Three employees were arrested on Tuesday in connection with allegations that they diverted student allowances to their personal accounts.
“This is as a result of a tip-off we received from students who noticed unusual and suspicious activities on their student accounts,” says NSFAS executive administrator Randall Carolissen.
Carolissen says NSFAS has given all evidence to authorities who are investigating the matter.
He urged students to report criminal activity.

“NSFAS has set-up dedicated, independent fraud hotline called ‘Vuvuzela’. Through this hotline whistle-blowers can report abuse, fraud, wastage and any other cases of misconduct.”
Carolissen says the arrest of the employees will not have a negative impact on their processes.
