The murder trial against
Ntuthuko Shoba has been postponed to 24 January.
Shoba appeared briefly in a busy Johannesburg High Court on Monday.
He is accused of hiring Muzikayise Malepane (31) to murder Tshegofatso Pule, who was allegedly his girlfriend at the time.
Malepane pleaded guilty to Pule’s murder and implicated Shoba. He told the court that Shoba did not want his wife to find out that Pule was pregnant with his child.
Pule’s murder galvanised protests and shocked many after she was found found hanging on a tree in Roodepoort while 6-months pregnant.
The state asked for a postponement, stating it needed to do re-imaging of cellphone evidence before the trial can proceed.
