Officials to assist family of slain SA woman
Officials from the South African Embassy in Mauritius will provide assistance to the family of a slain woman.
It’s understood that the body of the South African woman, who was working in Mauritius, was found in her home on Monday.
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s Nelson Kqwete says the South African government is working with its counterparts in Mauritius.
“The embassy was informed that the deceased family was traveling from Switzerland to Mauritius yesterday. Officials are due to meet with the family today. It is unclear at this point which passport the deceased was using whilst in Mauritius.
“The South African Embassy will take the lead in providing assistance to the family and investigating the matter. Following up all the leads with the Mauritius police, but also honour the wishes of her family as to where she would like to buried,” says Kqwete.
