Old Mutual to review processes after corpse incident
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Insurer Old Mutual has vowed to review its policies on claims after a video depicting two women dragging a dead family member into a branch went viral on social media.
The video was taken at the Old Mutual branch in Stanger, KwaZulu-Natal.
The video has led to backlash on social media, with many accusing the company of inefficiency.
However, Old Mutual general manager Thembisa Mapukata says the claim was delayed and not denied.

She adds that they will be meeting with the family on Wednesday to finalise the claim.
“We are in the process of going to meet the family to apologise once more for the pain we have caused and the delay this has caused.
“We are also relooking our processes as Old Mutual to ensure that assessments do not take longer than it is expected by our customers.”
Old Mutual think they can treat a Judge, the Courts, with contempt when it suits them. But yesterday a solitary, strong Aunty showed them what happens when they treat their customers with the same arrogance. #oldmutual
