One armed robber killed, three arrested in Roodepoort
Johannesburg metro police officers shot and killed one suspected armed robber and arrested three others in Florida, Roodepoort.
The JMPD said officers, who were patrolling the area on Saturday, responded to a business robbery in progress on Goldman Street when they heard gunshots.
Upon arrival, they found four armed suspects who were in the middle of a robbery.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said two of the suspects allegedly fired shots inside the business.
“The officers managed to apprehend three of the suspects. One suspect was fatally wounded during the confrontation. Two firearms were recovered from the scene, both with filed-off serial numbers.”
The three suspects will face charges of business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms.
