The City of Tshwane says one of its employees sustained minor injuries following a fire at the Mooikloof Substation on Wednesday evening.
The employee was admitted to the hospital for a medical assessment.
The fire has dumped large parts of the east of the city in the dark.
City of Tshwane spokesperson Hilgard Mathews says the extent of the damage is not yet known.
“The areas affected include Morelata Park, Pretorius Park, Mooikloof, Olympus, Woodlands & parts of Garsfontein.
The priority now is to make sure that the site is safe for the team to do the necessary inspection,” says Mathews
