One killed in taxi crash
One person was killed and several others were injured when a minibus taxi and another vehicle collided on the R511 near Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, paramedics said on Thursday.
"When paramedics arrived on scene on Wednesday night and found one patient trapped in the car and others from the taxi lying all over," said ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing.
"A man believed to be in his 30's, who was a passenger in the taxi, had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries."
The man who was trapped in his car was extricated from the wreckage by the fire and rescue services.
The injured were transported to various hospitals. The cause of the accident was unknown.
