Ormonde building collapse: Death toll rises to eight

The death toll in the Ormonde building collapse has increased to eight, Johannesburg Emergency Services confirmed on Tuesday morning.
The building, which was still under construction, collapsed on Monday afternoon, killing six construction workers and trapping others beneath piles of rubble.
The recovery mission resumed on Tuesday morning after operations had been suspended on Monday evening.
Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson Xolile Khumalo says recovery operations initially commenced at 8 am for three missing construction workers.
"Two patients have been located and the teams are working on extracting them from under the concrete slab. One patient remains unaccounted for, bringing the total confirmed death toll to eight.
"One of the two bodies have been recovered. Search continuous to extract the other located patient and one still missing."
Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero is expected to visit site this morning.
