Over 95,000 potholes fixed in Joburg - JRA

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) says in the last three months, it has fixed over 95,000 potholes around the city.
The agency says more than 19 000 potholes are still outstanding.
JRA Spokesperson, Themba Mathibe there are also about 423 patches on the roads in the city that need to be reinstated.
"We have created the accelerated service delivery plan; the plan was two-phased. In the first phase, we did a trial run in which we focused on the three of the worst regions, which is region D, J and C from the period of 22 of February to the 2nd of March," says Mathibe.
He adds the second phase involved contracting three emerging full-time contractors because of Covid-19 restrictions some team members could be at work some days.
According to Mathibe, the city’s the roads are deteriorating due to the influx of people to the city, as well as aging infrastructure and inclement weather conditions.
