Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) have arrested three suspects for possession of dagga.
The suspects aged between 22 and 38 were found with R600 000 worth of dagga in a house in Kempton Park on Tuesday.
EMPD Spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa says the Metro’s Covid-19 North Rand unit received a tip-off of suspected activities at the house.
“A tip-off from a member of the community about suspicious activity led the team to a Kempton Park West house. The law enforcers introduced themselves and asked to search the house.
Officers noticed sealed plastic bags, and on opening, one found it contained dagga,” says Thepa.
The bags were subsequently taken to Arwyp Medical Centre for weighing and they clocked in at a total of 262.65kg.
The three suspects were charged with possession and dealing in drugs.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
