An application by Cooperative Governance Minister Des van Rooyen and President Jacob Zuma, to interdict the Public Protector from releasing the report, will be heard next month.

Van Rooyen's application and relief sought is similar to that of the President's application and the judge, therefore, proposed the matters be heard at the same time.

The EFF's Godrich Gardee says while the release of the report is a matter of urgency, the law must be allowed to take its course.

"We are encourage by the attitude of the court and all other parties in the matter. As a matter of fact, come 1 November we shall have a very good fight," he said.

The report will, in the meantime, not be made public and be kept in safekeeping.

The DA's Refiloe Ntsheke raised concerns over where the report will be kept.

"What is concerning to us is the fact that the report goes back to the Public Protector. As you know the DA has tabled concerns about her (Busisiwe Mkhwebane) appointment. We'll continue to pursue the matter as per the date that has been agreed upon," she said.
