Parts of Klipspruit Valley Road in Soweto to close due to sinkhole

A section of Klipspruit Valley road in Orlando, Soweto, will be closed from Tuesday for the emergency repair of a sinkhole in the area.
The road will be closed off until 14 November 2022.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla says Klipspruit Valley Road will be closed to traffic between Moroka Nancefield Road, SofaSonke Street and Khumalo Road.
“Motorists are advised to avoid that section of the road and to use Nancefield Road and Mncube Drive in Dube, Ntipe Street and Khumalo Road in Orlando West to rejoin Klip Valley Road.

“Motorists can also use Moroka Nancefield Road which joins Mokoena Street in Klipspruit. Bambisa Street, Mofokeng Street, Tswalo Street and SofaSonke Street in Orlando East to also rejoin Klipspruit Valley Road.”
Motorists have been urged to exercise caution during this time.
