Pilchards recalled at Shoprite, Checkers and OK
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Certain tins of pilchards sold under the Shoprite/Checkers brand have been recalled by West Point Processors due to health concerns.
The company says faulty canning at the processing factory based in St Helen Bay may cause the cans of 400g pilchards in tomato sauce to bloat.
It warns it can lead to consumers falling ill.
