LISTEN: Police dismantle hitch hiking crime syndicate

Limpopo Police have confirmed that four suspects have been arrested in connection with several hitch hiking robberies around the Tzaneen Cluster.

The suspects - aged between 25 and 37 - were nabbed during a Crime Intelligence Led Joint operation.

 

Police had received information from members of the community about a blue VW Golf which was involved in the incidents. 


The first suspect was arrested in the Tzaneen CBD driving Golf.

His accomplices were spotted travelling with a white BMW without registration numbers. This motor vehicle was pulled off the road but it sped off and a motor vehicle chase ensued until it was connered in the villages outside Lenyenye. The remaining three suspects abandoned it and run into the nearby bushes on foot. They were chased and nabbed. 


Police spokespeson Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court soon.
