Police hunt for 12 suspects linked to Florida heist

Gauteng police are searching for a group of around 12 suspects who were involved in a cash-in-transit heist in Florida, west of Johannesburg.
One person was killed and another injured in Friday morning’s heist.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the suspects were driving four cars.

"Black BMW, black Mercedes Benz, white Ford Ranger and white Audi Q5 and started to shoot at G4S truck using pistols and rifles.
"The armoured vehicle came to a stop on the road. All the guards were instructed to lie down.
"Suspects allegedly used explosives to bomb the amoured vehicle and made off with undisclosed amount of cash.”
Muridili says a tow truck driver saw the incident happen and chased down the suspects, but was shot and killed.
"Shots were fired in the pursuit and truck driver was fatally shot in William Nicol Road.
"A rifle that was taken from the G4S security guard during the robbery was found abandoned at Hendrik Potgieter Road.”
