Sunnyside police have launched a manhunt and deployed among others, forensic experts, multiple informers and intelligence networks following the discovery of the third dead body of a homeless man at Muckelneuck's Magnolia Park in Tshwane on Sunday.

While the most recent discovery was the second at Magnolia Park on consecutive days, the first dead body of a homeless man was found at a veld near Mears Park Train Station, also in Muckleneuk, two Saturdays ago.

"Though the deceased were found to have suffered at least blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds to the upper body, the motive behind the killings and the identities of the deceased remain a subject of investigations," said the police's Captain Daniel Mavimbela.

"Campaigns aimed at raising awareness among homeless people have since been incorporated into daily operations of the local police."

Sunnyside police have called upon relevant stakeholders to "join hands and intensify efforts to ensure the safety of homeless persons."
