The protestors are demanding better service delivery from the Ottoshoop municipality.

North West police say an unconfirmed number of community members barricaded the R49 road between Mahikeng and Zeerust.

The police's Sabata Mokgwabone says damage was caused to three buildings.

"They set alight a post office. They also pelted a police station and a house used to accommodate police officers with stones. This led to damages of windowpanes of the said buildings."

A 30-year-old female has been arrested for public violence, malicious damage to property and the Contravention of the National Road Traffic Act.

"She is expected to appear in the Zeerust Magistrates Court soon," says Mokgwabone.
