Power outage in Rosslyn as substation catches fire

A substation in Rosslyn, north of Tshwane, caught fire
on Monday morning leaving several areas without electricity.
“This morning a major power outage occurred in the Rosslyn area, as a fire broke out at the Rosslyn substation currently affecting Rosslyn industrial area, Orchids and areas towards Soshanguve” says the city’s acting chief of staff Jordan Griffiths.
Emergency teams from Tshwane managed to extinguish the fire and were still on site by lunchtime on Monday.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
