Power restored to Johannesburg's East
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Electricity supply to a number of suburbs in Johannesburg East was restored on the Day of Goodwill (commonly known as Boxing Day).
This after residents were left in the dark for Christmas following a fire at the Cleveland substation.
City Power Tweeted on Thursday that the power supply had been restored ahead of schedule.

Earlier in the week, City Power's Isaac Mangena said a new standby transformer was commissioned and tested positively on Christmas day with the hope of energising it and restoring power before the end of Christmas day.
"However, for oil to soak in and have the transformer carry the load took longer than expected," he explained.
When experiencing a power outage, don't assume that it is loadshedding. Your power supply could be interrupted as a result of a local outage due to a technical fault. Eskom is currently not loadshedding.
