Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi will be laid to his final resting place on Friday.
His family made the announcement on Sunday during an ANC delegation's visit to KwaPhindangene Royal Residence.
The founder of the IFP and Traditional Prime Minster to the Zulu Monarch and Nation passed away on Saturday in eMahlabathini.
ANC NEC member Zweli Mkhize says Buthelezi's attachment to the party has been legendary.
"This for us tells us that there is a lot that we've shared with Prince Buthelezi. So we are here to honour his legacy."
Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says her office is engaging with the Presidency on the funeral preparations.
