Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
More than 20 buses belonging to a private bus company were destroyed in a fire at a depot in Mabopane, north of Pretoria, on Tuesday.
Emergency services responded to what was initially reported as a grass fire, only to find the buses engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported.
Emergency services spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni said the cause of the fire is still unknown, and an investigation is underway.
"There were 23 buses that were eventually burned and we managed to save about 14 of those buses.
"The operational crews have handed over to the police for further investigations."
