The work is due to begin on Tuesday.

The upgrade will be carried out in three phases, with each maintenance work taking more than 24 hours.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says work will start as early as 8am.

"The phases entail removing the existing pipelines at the low level outlet chamber and the installation of new special fittings and connections into the existing chamber.”

The first phase will begin on Tuesday and run until Thursday at 18:00.

This will be followed by the second phase starting next Monday from 8am until Wednesday 6pm.

The final phase will take place on the 15 December at 8am until 16 December at 6pm.

"Residents in the Iscor Heights Reservoir supply area are thus forewarned about an interruption of water supply scheduled,” says Mashigo.
