Protector report on Prasa due

A provisional report by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela on allegations of mismanagement and maladministration at the Prasa rail agency will be submitted within a month, her office said on Monday. 

 

"The Public Protector had made an undertaking to finalise the provisional report by 30 of April 2013 but could not due to the unforeseen circumstances beyond her control... the provisional report could not be issued on the said date," it said in a statement. 

 

"For this, the Public Protector therefore apologises to the National Transport Movement (NTM) for the delay." It said Madonsela would meet NTM representatives on Tuesday. Madonsela received a complaint of financial mismanagement, tender irregularities, irregular appointments and maladministration against the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) in April last year.
