Protesting metered taxi drivers heading to Sandton
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Hundreds of metered taxi drivers, who protested against Uber in Pretoria this morning, say they will now head to Sandton 'for lunch'.
The drivers caused severe traffic disruptions in the Pretoria CBD as they headed to the Department of Transport to hand over a memorandum.
They are accusing government of not taking their concerns over Uber seriously and have threatened to close streets in Pretoria if the situation persists.
Drivers have given the Department of Transport seven days to respond to their memorandum and stop Uber from operating in the country.
