Ramaphosa makes string of appointments at NPA
President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed two deputy heads of prosecution to serve under the Nation Director of Public Prosecutions.
The appointments of advocates Ouma Rasethaba and Rodney de Kock are effective immediately.
Rasethaba replaces advocate Nomgcobo Jiba, who was fired last year following an inquiry into her fitness to hold office.
“Advocate Rasethaba brings at least 30 years of legal experience since her admission as an attorney in 1990 and an advocate six years later,” says the Presidency’s Khusela Diko.
“Advocate De Kock has been a DPP for 15 years and is currently the second most senior Director of Public Prosecutions. He has 32 years’ relevant legal experience, 15 years of those at an executive leadership level within the NPA.”

Ramaphosa also approved the appointment of a Special Director of Public Prosecutions.
Advocate Mthunzi Mhaga has been appointed to that position.
“Advocate Mhaga is a highly experienced, skilled and multi-talented legal practitioner with 17 years' experience.
“He offers a wide range of legal skills with a strong understanding of civil litigation, public prosecutions and media communications,” adds Diko.
