President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed a proclamation of a Commission of Inquiry into the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
This comes hot on the heels of an inquiry set up by President Ramaphosa into suspended commissioner Tom Moyane.
Speaking during the debate on the Presidency budget vote in the National Assembly, Ramaphosa said the situation at Sars remains a priority.
"The stabilisation of Sars has received priority attention, I have today signed a proclamation establishing a commission of enquiry into tax administration and governance chaired by former Judge Robert Nugant and assisted by Michael Katz advocate Mabongi Masilo and Mr Vuyo Kahla, " said Ramaphosa.
