Ramaphosa Q&A in National Assembly delayed by EFF
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
President Cyril Ramaphosa had to wait an hour before he was able to answer questions from MPs in the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon.
This was after the session was disrupted by the Economic Freedom Fighters.
MPs were set to ask Ramaphosa about his plans to stabilise the country's electricity, the response to illegal migration and the Phala Phala scandal.
But EFF members raised several points of order, asking why the president was not physically present in the National Assembly.
Leader Julius Malema said the party wants the sitting to be postponed to a further date when all members are able to gather under one roof to hold the executive accountable.
Malema also wants Ramaphosa to be held accountable for the alleged cover-up of a theft of a large amount of foreign currency at his Phala Phala farm in 2020.
The party also wants a report on the sexual harassment against the EFF MPs who were allegedly abused during the presidency’s budget vote in June.
But National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula said a copy of the report has been submitted to the EFF.

Ramaphosa has apologised for appearing virtually, saying he couldn't be physically present in the house as the First Lady Dr Tshepo Motsepe is recovering from a medical procedure.
