Ramaphosa: Small business investors showing keen interest at Dubai Expo

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the Expo 2020 Dubai has demonstrated a keen interest in growing South African start-up businesses.
Ramaphosa delivered a keynote address at the SA National Day in lavish Dubai on Monday morning where he detailed SA's business potential.
The expo, which launched some six months ago, is organised under the theme 'Connecting minds and creating the future'.
The country is among hundreds of others on show in the United Arab Emirates.
"We didn't just come here to show out pretty faces. We've also come here, and we are emerging out of here with a legacy," he told delegates.
Twenty South African small and medium enterprises were handpicked by Multichoice for the Accelerator Programme in a bid to connect them with global investors.
The companies were also in Dubai vying for investors' attention.
Ramaphosa hopes the exercise will unlock business opportunities for these small businesses as well.
"This Multichoice Accelerator Programme compliments government's efforts to harness the power of small medium enterprises, particularly in the digital economy ad in 4IR.
"I'm told that the pitches to international investors and venture capitalists have been a great success and I'm very pleased about that.”
The expo is expected to wrap up at the end of the month.
