NCC announces recall of Benny beef, chicken-flavoured stock cubes
Updated | By Selaki Ledwaba
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has announced a recall of all Benny beef- and chicken-flavoured stock cubes due to inaccurate labelling.
The recall comes after Tiger Brands notified the commission of inaccurate nutritional information on the label.
The Consumer Commission said in a statement on Thursday that the nutritional labelling on products' packaging may not accurately reflect the product's sodium content.
The affected batches have been on sale since 2023.
“The inaccurate nutritional information on the label may impact a consumer’s ability to make an informed decision about consuming the product based on their dietary requirements,” the commission said.
“Products forming part of this recall include the 12, 24 and 48 cube pack sizes of Benny. Consumers are urged to return the products to their point of purchase for a full refund. No proof of payment is required."
