Renowned HIV activist, Angie Diale, passes away

The family of well known HIV activist and TV
presenter, Angie Diale, have confirmed that she passed away on 23 December.
The family say in a statement Diale died at the Leratong Hospital on the Gauteng West Rand following a short illness.
“She was complaining of shortness of breath and subsequently treated at Tshepo Temba Hospital yesterday and later transferred to Leratong Hospital where she sadly passed in the early hours of this morning. The cause of death has been confirmed to be pneumonia,” reads the statement.
Angie Diale was 55 years old.
She was known as an HIV activist, but also a counsellor, life coach and community builder.
Diale was further known as a TV presenter on SABC 1 and on Mzanzi Magic.
“The family is still coming to terms with the unexpected passing of their Mother, Sister, & Friend. We request to be afforded some privacy and time to deal with this sudden loss.”
Diale leaves behind her Mother Mirriam Mosala, Husband Billy Diale, one Brother Kenosi "Solo" Tau, two children (Olerato and Tshepa) and a grandson Oitumetse.
Details of the memorial service and funeral will be confirmed at a later stage.
