Rescue SA heads to Malawi
Rescue South Africa will send about 30 emergency volunteers to Malawi on Wednesday to assist with rescue operations.
The volunteers will include doctors, paramedics and swift water rescue technicians.
Rescue SA Chief executive Ian Scher says 15 of the 28 districts in Malawi have been declared disaster areas.
"There is extensive damage to property and thousands of people are being displaced while hundreds have been killed, they are expecting more rain, the situation will get worse" he said.
The team will fly to Blantyre. From there they will be deployed to assist where necessary.
